Tobias Rehn bringt Sie mit seinem Projekt "Portfolio
1.0" endlich pünktlich in den wohlverdienten Feierabend.
Mit “Portfolio 1.0” zeigt die Förderkoje
erstmals eine Arbeit von Tobias Rehn (geb. 1980), bestehend
aus drei Computerprogrammen. Erstellt, um die Abarbeitung
von Bewerbungsszenarien, wie sie im Kunstbetrieb täglich
vorkommen, erheblich zu erleichtern.
Hierbei handelt es sich einerseits um das Programm “Portfolio
1.0”. Ein Programm, das ein Mappenauswahlverfahren,
wie es an vielen Kunsthochschulen zur Vorauswahl der Bewerber
eingesetzt wird, überflüssig macht.
Das zweite Programm, die
“Portfolio 1.0 Gallery Edition” ist
auf den Einsatz in Galerien ausgelegt. Es bearbeitet die
bei der Galerie eingehenden Bewerbungen, und verwaltet diese
in einer übersichtlichen Datenbank.
Den Abschluss bildet die “Portfolio
1.0 Collectors Edition”. Diese Software dient
dazu, Sammler bei ihren Kaufentscheidungen zu unterstützen.
Dabei kann sowohl eine völlig neue Sammlung aufgebaut
werden, als auch eine bereits bestehende ergänzt werden.
Mit diesem Projekt thematisiert Tobias Rehn die oftmals fließenden
Grenzen zwischen Absicht und Willkür, hinterfragt die
Qualität wichtiger Entscheidungen. „Portfolio 1.0“
ist die bewusste Befreiung von schwierigen und langwierigen
Entscheidungsprozessen, deren Ergebnis nie absolut sein kann
und die damit immer fragwürdig bleiben. Zumal es nicht
mit dem Treffen der Entscheidung getan ist. Fest steht, dass
eine Entscheidung weitere Auswirkungen mit sich bringt, die
ebenso verantwortet werden wollen.

With his project named "Portfolio 1.0" the Förderkoje
has him on display for the very first time. The work consists
of three computer applications. Authored to alleviate the
processing of application scenarios, which can be found in
the art business each day.
On the one hand there is "Portfolio 1.0".
An application, written to supersede the portfolio selection
procedure, used at many art schools for screening the applicants.
On the other hand the "Portfolio
1.0 Gallery Edition"
is layouted for the use in galleries. It processes the
incoming applications and stores them in a clearly structured
database.
The conclusion is made by the "Portfolio
1.0 Collectors Edition".
This software serves to support collectors with their buying
decisions. Thereby it is possible both to start a new collection
from scratch, and also to complete an existing one.
With this project Tobias Rehn makes the so often flowing border
between intent and arbitrariness a subject of discussion and
tries to get to the bottom of the quality of such important
decisions. "Portfolio 1.0" is the deliberate waiver
from long-winded decision-making processes; their results
can never be absolute and so will always be questionable.
The more so as it is never done with making a decision. It
is clear, that a made decision always implies further consequences,
which have to be answered for.
